Practice&Operations Advisory Group

The purpose of the Practice & Operations Advisory Group is to identify how the data system could address improvement efforts at the institutional and regional level, support a case management approach to service delivery, and create tools that would be useful to students, families, and teachers.

Bakersfield College: Craig Hayward

Craig Hayward, Ph.D., is the Dean of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness for Bakersfield College (BC). Located in Kern County at the southern end of California's Central Valley, BC serves over 36,000 students annually and is a leader in the use of intersegmental data to improve student success, such as by using high school performance data to place students and by pioneering the Program Pathways Mapper (http://bit.ly/BC-PPM) to clarify pathways to certificate attainment, transfer, and degree completion for high school students and other community members.

Campaign for College Opportunity: Sara Arce

Sara Arce is the Vice President of Policy and Advocacy for the Campaign for College Opportunity (Campaign). The Campaign is a statewide policy and advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring all Californians have an equal opportunity to attend and succeed in college in order to build a vibrant workforce, economy, and democracy.

Child Care Resource Center: Susan Savage

Susan Savage, Ph.D., is the Director of Research for the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC). Through their mission to cultivate child, family and community well-being, CCRC provides quality improvement, support, development, and education services to almost 50,000 children, families, and providers in their 22,500-square-mile service area.

CORE Districts: Rick Miller

Rick Miller is the Executive Director of the CORE Districts. Powered by data, innovation, research and continuous learning, the eight CORE districts are collaborating to solve inequities and ensure every student has what they need to thrive.

Foothill College: Laurie Scolari

Laurie Scolari, Ed.D. is the Associate Vice President of Student Services at Foothill College. Foothill College is one of the 115 community colleges in California. Foothill Colleges serves northern Santa Clara County, offering 166 degrees and certificates for its 15,000 students. Foothill prides itself on providing access to outstanding educational opportunities for all students through basic skills training, career preparation, lifelong learning or transfer.

Futuro Health: Anthony Dalton

Anthony Dalton is the Chief Data and Technology Officer for Futuro Health. Futuro Health seeks to graduate 10,000 new licensed and/or credentialed allied health workers by 2024 by using an education-to-work model that supports candidates through career exploration and coaching, education financing, and determining the best pathway toward credential or licensure attainment.

Lancaster Unified School District: Michele Bowers

Michele Bowers, Ed.D., is the Superintendent of the Lancaster Unified School District (Lancaster USD). Lancaster USD provides high-quality education to its 15,000 preschool through eighth grade students.

Linked Learning Alliance: Roneeta Guha

Roneeta Guha is the Vice President for Strategy and Impact for the Linked Learning Alliance (LLA). The LLA is a statewide coalition of education, industry, and community organizations dedicated to improving high schools and preparing students for success in college, career, and life.

Poway Unified School District: Kathleen Porter

Kathleen Porter is the Executive Director of the Career Technical, Adult, and Alternative Education Department for the Poway Unified School District. As an integral part of the entire educational program, Career Technical Education in Poway Unified School District offers academically challenging technical courses and programs. These courses and programs are comprehensive and future-oriented, are responsive to student, parent, community and workforce development needs, and are proven to positively affect student achievement.

Riverside County Office of Education: Catalina Cifuentes

Catalina Cifuentes is the Executive Director of College and Career Readiness for the Riverside County Office of Education (Riverside COE). Riverside COE provides specific educational, financial, legislative, and leadership services to all K-12 school districts in Riverside County.

Santa Clara County Office of Education: Joell Hanson, Marcy Lauck, and Nabil Shahin

Joell Hanson is the Career Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE). SCCOE CTE supports all 31 Santa Clara County school districts in building and sustaining high-quality, rigorous, and relevant college and career pathways and programs through partnerships with businesses, community colleges, and non-profit organizations. Our goal is to create equitable access to college and career futures for all students across Santa Clara County, ensuring a diverse, well developed, highly-skilled, future workforce.

Stockton Unified School District Board of Education: Lange Luntao

Lange Luntao is the Board President of Area 4 for the Stockton Unified School District Board of Education. The Board of Education governs the community’s public schools.

Thurgood Marshall Academic High School: Reynaldo Dulaney, Jr.

Reynaldo Dulaney, Jr. is a high school teacher at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School in the San Francisco Unified School District, where he teaches Ethnic Studies and AP United States History. He also serves as the Union Building Representative, for his local union (United Educators of San Francisco). Thurgood Marshall Academic High School is located in the southeastern part of San Francisco and offers a four-year college preparatory program to a diverse student body. The San Francisco Unified School District is the seventh-largest school district in the State, educating more than 57,000 students a year.

UNITE-LA: Heddy Nam and David Rattray

Heddy Nam is the Director of Talent Development at UNITE-LA, a nonprofit organization that leads collaborative education reform efforts, promotes business-education partnerships, expand college access and provides workforce development opportunities for youth in the Los Angeles area to ensure underserved youth have the opportunity to participate in Los Angeles’ 21st century economy.

David Rattray is the President of UNITE-LA, a nonprofit organization that leads collaborative education reform efforts, promotes business-education partnerships, expand college access and provides workforce development opportunities for youth in the Los Angeles area to ensure underserved youth have the opportunity to participate in Los Angeles’ 21st century economy.

uAspire: Jaclyn Piñero

Jaclyn Piñero is the Chief Regional Officer for uAspire. uAspire is a nonprofit organization ensuring that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to and through college.

West Hills College Lemoore: Kristin Clark

Kristin Clark, Ph.D., is the President of West Hills College Lemoore (WHCL). WHCL serves a diverse community of students who seek an affordable, accessible, relevant, and rigorous education.
